Concerning the Special Characteristics of His Worship on the Day of Ashura

در خصوصيات عبادات آن حضرت در روز عاشورا

كاش آنزمان سرادق گردون نگون شدي وين خرگه بلند ستون بي‌ستون شدي‌كاش آنزمان برآمدي از كوه تا بكوه سيل سيه كه روي زمين قيرگون شدي‌كاش آنزمان كه پيكر او شد درون خاك جان جهانيان همه از تن برون شدي‌كاش آنزمان ز آه جگرسوز اهلبيت يكشعله برق خرمن گردون دون شدي‌كاش آنزمان كه كشتي آل نبي شكست عالم تمام غرقه‌ي درياي خون شدي‌كاش آنزمان كه اين حركت كرد آسمان سيماب‌وار روي زمين بي‌سكون شدي‌اين انتقام گر نفتادي بروز حشر با اين عمل معامله دهر چون شدي‌آل نبي چو دست تظلم برآورند اركان عرش را به تزلزل درآورند [ صفحه 111] 

Concerning the Special Characteristics of His Worship on the Day of Ashura

Would that at that time the canopy of the heavens had been overturned, And this lofty tent without pillars had collapsed.

Would that at that time a dark flood had surged from mountain to mountain, Until the face of the earth had become black like pitch.

Would that at that time, when his body was laid beneath the soil, The souls of all mankind had departed from their bodies.

Would that at that time, from the heart-burning sighs of the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.), A single flash of lightning had set ablaze the harvest of the lowly heavens.

Would that at that time, when the ship of the family of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) was shattered, The whole world had been drowned in an ocean of blood.

Would that at that time, when the heavens began to tremble, The earth had become like quicksilver, never finding rest.

Had this vengeance not been deferred until the Day of Resurrection, How could the world have continued after such a deed?

When the family of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) raise their hands in complaint, The pillars of the Throne are shaken with trembling.
