S 45 Ayat 18 to 19

قوله تعالى:

ثُمَّ جَعَلْناكَ عَلى‏ شَريعَةٍ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ فَاتَّبِعْها وَ لا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْواءَ الَّذينَ لا يَعْلَمُونَ (18)

إِنَّهُمْ لَنْ يُغْنُوا عَنْكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئاً وَ إِنَّ الظَّالِمينَ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِياءُ بَعْضٍ وَ اللَّهُ وَلِيُّ الْمُتَّقينَ (19)

Allah’s saying: (Quran 45:18-19, M.H. Shakir Translation)

"Then We made you follow a course in the affair, therefore follow it, and do not follow the low desires of those who do not know." (45:18)

"Surely they shall not avail you in the least against Allah; and surely the unjust are friends of each other, and Allah is the guardian of those who guard (against evil).” (45:19)

 [18-19] /9741 _3-علي بن إبراهيم:في قوله تعالى: ثُمَّ جَعَلْنٰاكَ عَلىٰ شَرِيعَةٍ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ فَاتَّبِعْهٰا وَ لاٰ تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوٰاءَ الَّذِينَ لاٰ يَعْلَمُونَ* إِنَّهُمْ لَنْ يُغْنُوا عَنْكَ مِنَ اللّٰهِ شَيْئاً ،فهذا تأديب لرسول اللّه(صلّى اللّه عليه و آله)و المعنى لامته.

Ali ibn Ibrahim, regarding the saying of Allah:

"Then We made you follow a course in the affair, therefore follow it, and do not follow the low desires of those who do not know." (Quran 45:18, M.H. Shakir)

"Surely they shall not avail you in the least against Allah." (Quran 45:19, M.H. Shakir)

This is an admonition for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and the meaning applies to his nation.
