Sa‘dan, from ‘Abd Allah b. al-Qasim al-Hadrami, from one of his companions, from Zarif [3], from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him). He said: “Whoever comes to the Family of Muhammad (may the blessings of Allah be upon them) comes to a clear spring flowing with the knowledge of Allah, which has no depletion and no interruption. This is because, had Allah willed, He would have shown them His Person so that they would come to Him by His gate; but He made the Family of Muhammad (may the blessings of Allah be upon them) His gates [4] through which He is approached. And that is His saying, Mighty and Majestic: ‘And it is not righteousness that you should enter the houses from their backs, but righteousness is he who guards against evil, and go into the houses by their doors.’”

99-/929 _5- Ibn Babawayh, Muhammad b. ‘Ali, said: Ahmad b. Ziyad b. Ja‘far al-Hamadhani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to us, who said: ‘Ali b. Ibrahim narrated to us, from his father, from ‘Abd al-Salam b. Salih al-Harawi, who said: I said to Abu al-Hasan ‘Ali b. Musa al-Rida (peace be upon him): O son of the Messenger of Allah, what do you say about a hadith narrated from al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), that he said: “When [2] the Qa’im (peace be upon him) rises, he will kill the offspring of the killers of al-Husayn (peace be upon him) because of the actions of their forefathers?” He (peace be upon him) said: “It is so.”

I said: What, then, is the meaning of the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: “And no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another” [3]? He said: “Allah has spoken the truth in all His words. However, the offspring of the killers of al-Husayn (peace be upon him) are pleased with the actions of their forefathers and take pride in them; and whoever is pleased with something is as one who has committed it. If a man were killed in the East, and a man in the West were pleased with his killing, then the one who is pleased would, in the sight of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, be a partner of the killer. And it is only that the Qa’im (peace be upon him) will kill them [4] when he appears, because they are pleased with the deeds of their forefathers.”

He said: So I asked him: With what will the Qa’im (peace be upon him) begin among them when he rises [5]? He said: “He will begin with Banu Shaybah and will cut off their hands, because they are the thieves of the House of Allah, Mighty and Majestic.”

The sacred month for the sacred month and all sacred things are (under the law of) retaliation; whoever then acts aggressively against you, inflict injury on him according to the injury he has inflicted on you, and be careful (of your duty) to Allah and know that Allah is with those who guard (against evil).
