در ذكر خصوصيات امام حسين در عوالم وجود تا انقضاء روز جزاء و مقاصد هفتگانه‌ي آن

باز اين چه شورش است كه در خلق عالم است باز اين چه نوحه و چه عزا و چه ماتم است‌باز اين چه رستخيز عظيم است كز زمين بي‌نفخ صور خاسته تا عرش اعظم است‌گر خوانمش قيامت دنيا بعيد نيست اين رسختيز عام كه نامش محرم است‌اين صبح تيره باز دميد از كجا كزاد كار جهان و خلق جهان جمله درهم است‌در بارگاه قدس كه جاي ملال نيست سرهاي قدسيان همه بر زانوي غم است‌گويا طلوع مي‌كند از مغرب آفتاب كاشوب در تمامي ذرات عالم است‌جن و ملك بر آدميان نوحه ميكنند گويا عزاي اشرف اولاد آدم است‌باز اين چه شورش است كه در خلق عالمست باز اين چه نوحه و چه عزا و چه ماتم است [ صفحه 91]:

Again, what is this tumult that has arisen among all creation?

Again, what is this lamentation, this mourning, and this grief?

Again, what is this tremendous resurrection that from the earth,

Without the blowing of the Trumpet, has risen up to the Supreme Throne?

If I call it the Resurrection of the world, it would not be far from the truth,

This universal upheaval whose name is Muḥarram.

From where has this dark morning dawned again,

That the affairs of the world and all its people are thrown into disorder?

In the Court of Divine Sanctity, where sorrow has no place,

The heads of the holy ones all rest upon the knees of grief.

It seems as though the sun is rising from the west,

Such turmoil exists in every particle of the universe.

Jinn and angels lament alongside mankind,

As though it is the mourning of the noblest son of Adam (a.s.).

Again, what is this tumult that has arisen among all creation?

Again, what is this lamentation, this mourning, and this grief?
