127. زﻫﯿﺮ ﺑﻦ ﻗﯿﻦ

زﻫﯿﺮ ﺑﻦ ﻗﯿﻦ ﻫﻮاي ﻋﺜﻤﺎن داﺷﺖ. ﺑﻪ ﻫﻨﮕﺎم ﻋﺰﯾﻤﺖ اﻣﺎم ﺣﺴـﯿﻦ ﻋﻠﯿﻪ اﻟﺴﻼم در ﯾﮑﯽ از ﻣﻨﺎزل اﻣﺎم ﺣﺴﯿﻦ ﻋﻠﯿﻪ اﻟﺴﻼم ﮐﺴﯽ را ﺑﻪ ﻧﺰد او ﻓﺮﺳـﺘﺎد و از او دﻋﻮت ﮐﺮد، او ﻧﻤﯽ ﺧﻮاﺳﺖ ﺑﺎ ﺣﻀـﺮت دﯾﺪار ﮐﻨﺪ. ﺑﺎ ﺗﻮﺻـﯿﻪ ي ﻫﻤﺴـﺮش ﺑﻪ ﻣﺤﻀﺮ ﺣﻀﺮت رﺳﯿﺪ و در ﭼﻨﺪ دﻗﯿﻘﻪ دﮔﺮﮔﻮن ﺷﺪ، ﺑﻪ ﻧﺰد ﻫﻤﺴﺮش رﻓﺖ، ﺧﯿﻤﻪ اش را در ﻫﻢ ﭘﯿﭽﯿﺪ و ﺑﻪ ﮐﺎروان اﻣﺎم ﺣﺴﯿﻦ ﻋﻠﯿﻪ اﻟﺴﻼم ﻣﻠﺤﻖ ﺷﺪ.

از او ﭘﺮﺳﯿﺪﻧﺪ: ﭼﻪ ﺷﺪ ﮐﻪ در ﭼﻨﺪ ﻟﺤﻈﻪ دﮔﺮﮔﻮن ﺷﺪي؟!

ﮔﻔﺖ: ﻣﻦ در ﻓﺘﺢ آذرﺑﺎﯾﺠﺎن ﺧﯿﻠﯽ ﺷﺎدﻣﺎن ﺑﻮدم، ﺟﻨﺎب ﺳﻠﻤﺎن ﭘﺮﺳﯿﺪ: ﺧﯿﻠﯽ ﺷﺎدﻣﺎﻧﯽ؟! ﮔﻔﺘﻢ: ﭼﺮا ﺷﺎدﻣﺎن ﻧﺒﺎﺷﻢ، ﻣﻮﻓّﻖ ﺷﺪﯾﻢ و اﯾﻦ ﻫﺎ را ﻣﺴﻠﻤﺎن ﮐﺮدﯾﻢ.

ﺳﻠﻤـﺎن ﻓﺮﻣﻮد: اﮔﺮ روزي ﮐﻪ ﻣﺴـﻠﻤﺎن ﻫﺎ ﺟﻤﻊ ﺷـﺪه ﺑﺎ ﻓﺮزﻧـﺪ ﭘﯿﺎﻣﺒﺮ ﺑﺠﻨﮕﻨـﺪ، اﮔﺮ آن روز در رﮐﺎب ﻓﺮزﻧـﺪ ﭘﯿﺎﻣﺒﺮ ﺑﺎﺷـﯽ، ﺟﺎي ﺷﺎدﻣﺎﻧﯽ اﺳﺖ.

ﻣﻦ ﺳﺨﻦ ﺳﻠﻤﺎن را ﻓﺮاﻣﻮش ﮐﺮده ﺑﻮدم، اﻣﺮوز ﺗﺎ ﺑﻪ ﻣﺤﻀﺮ اﻣﺎم ﺣﺴﯿﻦ ﻋﻠﯿﻪ اﻟﺴﻼم رﺳﯿﺪم، ﺳﺨﻦ ﺳﻠﻤﺎن را ﺑﻪ ﯾﺎد آوردم و دﯾﮕﺮ ﻫﻤﻪ ﭼﯿﺰ دﮔﺮﮔﻮن ﺷﺪ.

در ﻣﻨﺰل ذوﺣﺴﻢ ﭘﺲ از ﺧﻄﺎﺑﻪ ي ﭘﺮﺷﻮر اﻣﺎم ﺣﺴﯿﻦ ﻋﻠﯿﻪ اﻟﺴﻼم زﻫﯿﺮ ﻋﺮض ﮐﺮد:

ﻣﻮﻻ ﺟﺎن! اﮔﺮ ﻣﺎ در دﻧﯿﺎ ﺟﺎوﯾﺪ ﺑﻮدﯾﻢ، ﺑﺎز ﻫﻢ ﺗﺮﺟﯿﺢ ﻣﯽ دادﯾﻢ ﮐﻪ در ﮐﻨﺎر ﺷﻤﺎ ﺑﺎﺷﯿﻢ و از ﺷﻤﺎ ﺟﺪا ﻧﺸﻮﯾﻢ. در ﺷﺐ ﻋﺎﺷﻮرا ﮐﻪ اﻣﺎم ﺣﺴﯿﻦ ﻋﻠﯿﻪ اﻟﺴﻼم ﻓﺮﻣﻮد:

ﻣﻦ ﺑﯿﻌﺖ ﺧﻮد را از ﺷﻤﺎ ﺑﺮداﺷﺘﻢ.

ﭘﺲ از ﻗﻤﺮ ﺑﻨﯽ ﻫﺎﺷﻢ، زﻫﯿﺮ ﺑﺮﺧﺎﺳﺖ و ﻋﺮﺿﻪ داﺷﺖ:

اي ﮐﺎش ﻫﺰار ﺟﺎن داﺷﺘﻢ و ﻫﻤﻪ ي آﻧﻬﺎ را در راه ﺗﻮ ﻓﺪا ﻣﯽ ﮐﺮدم.

روز ﻋﺎﺷﻮرا ﭘﺲ از ﺷـﻬﺎدت ﺟﻨﺎب ﺣﺒﯿﺐ، زﻫﯿﺮ اﻣﺎم ﺣﺴـﯿﻦ ﻋﻠﯿﻪ اﻟﺴـﻼم را ﺗﺴـﻠّﯽ ﻣﯽ داد و ﻋﺮﺿﻪ ﻣﯽ داﺷﺖ: ﻣﮕﺮ ﻧﻪ اﯾﻦ اﺳﺖ ﮐﻪ ﻣﺎ ﺑﺮ ﺣﻖ ﻫﺴﺘﯿﻢ، دﯾﮕﺮ از ﻣﺮگ ﻫﺮاﺳﯽ ﻧﺪارﯾﻢ(1).

127. Zuhayr ibn Qayn

Zuhayr ibn Qayn inclined toward the view of ʿUthmān. During the journey of Imām Husain (a.s.), at one of his halting stations, the Imām sent someone to invite Zuhayr. Zuhayr was reluctant to meet the Imām, but upon the advice of his wife, he went to his presence, and within a few minutes, he was transformed. He returned to his wife, packed up his tent, and joined the caravan of Imām Husain (a.s.).

He was asked: “What happened that changed you so suddenly?”

He replied: “I was once overjoyed during the conquest of Azerbaijan. Hazrat Salmān (radiyallāhu ‘anhu) asked me, ‘Are you very happy?’ I said, ‘Why wouldn’t I be happy? We succeeded and brought these people to Islam.’

Salmān said: ‘If one day the Muslims gather to fight the son of the Prophet, and you are in the ranks of the Prophet’s son — that is the day to truly rejoice.’

I had forgotten the words of Salmān, but today, when I came into the presence of Imām Husain (a.s.), his words returned to me — and everything changed.”

At the station of Dhuḥusam, after the impassioned address of Imām Husain (a.s.), Zuhayr said:

“O Master! Even if we were to live forever in this world, we would still choose to be by your side and never separate from you.”

On the night of ʿĀshūrāʾ, when Imām Husain (a.s.) said:

“I lift my allegiance from you all,”

— after Hazrat Abū al-Faḍl, Zuhayr stood and said:

“If only I had a thousand lives — I would sacrifice them all in your path.”

On the day of ʿĀshūrāʾ, after the martyrdom of Ḥabīb, Zuhayr consoled Imām Husain (a.s.) and said:

“Are we not on the side of truth? Then we have no fear of death.”¹
