Ayyūb (a.s.) and Imam Husain (a.s.), the Most Special Servants of Allah

Ayyūb (a.s.) and Imam Husain (a.s.), the Most Special Servants of Allah

Chapter of Ayyūb (a.s.):

Allah said regarding him:

“Indeed, We found him patient. What an excellent servant he was!” (Surah Ṣād 38:44) [1393]

And Allah found Imam Husain (a.s.) patient; rather, He found him grateful and content.

For this reason, He described him as the tranquil soul (al-Nafs al-Mutmainnah) and the content and pleasing soul (al-Raadhiyah).

And concerning him it was said:

“Blessed is this newborn child.” [1394]

He was included among the specially chosen servants of Allah, and he was counted among the most select of His servants.

This is indicated in the statement of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.):

“Imam Husain (a.s.) is from me.”

And Imam Husain (a.s.) is the true “awwāb” (one who constantly returns to Allah), for whenever he completed one act of obedience, he immediately began another act of obedience that was even more difficult than the previous one, and his longing increased ever more.

Ayyūb (a.s.) remained patient through every affliction.

However, he could not bear the humiliation and the uncovering of the head of his wife Raḥīmah.

And Imam Husain (a.s.) in the plain of Karbalāʾ remained patient through all calamities.

But when his sister came out from the tents toward the place of slaughter, he could not bear it, and devoted all of his effort to sending her back toward the tents. [1395]
