Surat al-Hajj

99-/7225 _1- ابْنُ بَابَوَيْهِ:بِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ: «مَنْ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْحَجِّ فِي كُلِّ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ لَمْ تَخْرُجْ سَنَتُهُ [1] حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ إِلَى بَيْتِ اللَّهِ الْحَرَامِ،وَ إِنْ مَاتَ فِي سَفَرِهِ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ». قُلْتُ:فَإِنْ كَانَ مُخَالِفاً؟قَالَ:يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُ بَعْضُ مَا هُوَ فِيهِ».

99-/7225 - Ibn Bābawayh: With his chain from Abū ʿAbd Allāh (peace be upon him), who said: “Whoever recites Surat al-Hajj every three days will not have his year [1] pass until he departs for the Sacred House of Allah; and if he dies on his journey, he will enter Paradise.” I said: What if he is an opponent [of the truth]? He said: “Some of what he is in will be lightened for him.”

99-/7226 _2- وَ مِنْ(خَوَاصِّ الْقُرْآنِ):رُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «مَنْ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ السُّورَةَ أُعْطِيَ مِنَ الْحَسَنَاتِ بِعَدَدِ مَنْ حَجَّ وَ اعْتَمَرَ،فِيمَا مَضَى وَ فِيمَا بَقِيَ،وَ مَنْ كَتَبَهَا فِي رَقِّ ظَبْيٍ وَ جَعَلَهَا فِي مَرْكَبٍ،جَاءَتْ لَهُ الرِّيحُ مِنْ كُلِّ جَانِبٍ وَ نَاحِيَةٍ،وَ أُصِيبَ ذَلِكَ الْمَرْكَبُ مِنْ كُلِّ جَانِبٍ،وَ أُحِيطَ بِهِ وَ بِمَنْ فِيهِ،وَ كَانَ هَلاَكُهُمْ وَ بَوَارُهُمْ،وَ لَمْ يَنْجُ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدٌ،وَ لاَ يَحِلُّ أَنْ يُكْتَبَ إِلاَّ فِي الظَّالِمِينَ قاطعين [قَاطِعِي] السَّبِيلِ مُحَارِبِينَ».

99-/7226 - And in (Khawāṣṣ al-Qurʾān): It is narrated from the Prophet (may Allah bless him and his family) that he said: “Whoever recites this surah will be granted good deeds equal to the number of those who have performed Hajj and ʿUmrah, in the past and in what remains to come. And whoever writes it on deerskin and places it in a vessel, the wind will come upon that vessel from every side and direction, and that vessel will be struck from every side, and it and those within it will be encompassed; their destruction and ruin will occur, and none of them will be saved. And it is not permissible that it be written except against wrongdoers—highway-robbers [cutters of the road], combatants.”

99-/7227 _3- وَ عَنِ الصَّادِقِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)،قَالَ: «مَنْ كَتَبَهَا فِي رَقِّ غَزَالٍ وَ جَعَلَهَا فِي صَحْنِ مَرْكَبٍ،جَاءَتْ إِلَيْهِ الرِّيحُ مِنْ كُلِّ مَكَانٍ،وَ اجْتَثَّتِ [2] الْمَرْكَبَ،وَ لَمْ يَسْلَمْ،وَ إِذَا كُتِبَتْ ثُمَّ مُحِيَتْ وَ رُشَّتْ فِي مَوْضِعِ سُلْطَانٍ جَائِرٍ،زَالَ مُلْكُهُ بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى».

99-/7227 - And from al-Ṣādiq (peace be upon him), he said: “Whoever writes it on gazelle skin and places it in the basin of a vessel, the wind will come upon it from every place and will uproot [2] the vessel, and it will not be saved. And if it is written, then erased, and sprinkled in the place of a tyrannical ruler, his dominion will be removed by the permission of Allah, Exalted.”

His saying, Exalted:

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ يٰا أَيُّهَا النّٰاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّ زَلْزَلَةَ السّٰاعَةِ شَيْءٌ عَظِيمٌ يَوْمَ تَرَوْنَهَا تَذْهَلُ كُلُّ مُرْضِعَةٍ عَمَّا أَرْضَعَتْ وَتَضَعُ كُلُّ ذَاتِ حَمْلٍ حَمْلَهَا وَتَرَى النَّاسَ سُكَارَىٰ وَمَا هُم بِسُكَارَىٰ وَلَٰكِنَّ عَذَابَ اللّٰهِ شَدِيدٌ وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يُجَادِلُ فِي اللّٰهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّبِعُ كُلَّ شَيْطَانٍ مَّرِيدٍ كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ مَن تَوَلَّاهُ فَأَنَّهُ يُضِلُّهُ وَيَهْدِيهِ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِن كُنتُمْ فِي رَيْبٍ مِّنَ الْبَعْثِ فَإِنَّا خَلَقْنَاكُم مِّن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٍ ثُمَّ مِن مُّضْغَةٍ مُّخَلَّقَةٍ وَغَيْرِ مُخَلَّقَةٍ لِّنُبَيِّنَ لَكُمْ وَنُقِرُّ فِي الْأَرْحَامِ مَا نَشَاءُ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ثُمَّ نُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلًا ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوا أَشُدَّكُمْ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُتَوَفَّىٰ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرَدُّ إِلَىٰ أَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ لِكَيْلَا يَعْلَمَ مِن بَعْدِ عِلْمٍ شَيْئًا وَتَرَى الْأَرْضَ هَامِدَةً فَإِذَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهَا الْمَاءَ اهْتَزَّتْ وَرَبَتْ وَأَنبَتَتْ مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ بَهِيجٍ [الحجّ 22:1-5]

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O people! guard against your Lord; surely the violence of the hour is a grievous thing. On the day when you shall see it, every woman giving suck shall quit in confusion what she suckled, and every pregnant woman shall lay down her burden, and you shall see men intoxicated, and they shall not be intoxicated but the chastisement of Allah will be severe. And among men there is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge, and follows every rebellious Shaitan; against him it is written down that whoever takes him for a friend, he shall lead him astray and conduct him to the chastisement of the burning fire. O people! if you are in doubt about the raising, then surely We created you from dust, then from a small seed, then from a clot, then from a lump of flesh, complete in make and incomplete, that We may make clear to you; and We cause what We please to stay in the wombs till an appointed time, then We bring you forth as babies, then that you may attain your maturity; and of you is he who is caused to die, and of you is he who is brought back to the worst part of life, so that after knowledge he does not know anything; and you see the earth dry, but when We send down on it the water, it stirs and swells and brings forth of every kind a beautiful herbage. 99-/7228 _1- الشَّيْخُ فِي(أَمَالِيهِ)قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ(رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ)،قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ الْكَاتِبُ،قَالَ:أَخْبَرَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ،قَالَ:أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ،عَنْ فُضَيْلِ بْنِ الْجَعْدِ،عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ،عَنْ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)،فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ حِينَ وَلاَّهُ مِصْرَ،وَ أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَقْرَأَهُ عَلَى أَهْلِهَا،وَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ:«يَا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ،إِنَّ بَعْدَ الْبَعْثِ مَا هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنَ الْقَبْرِ،يَوْمٌ يَشِيبُ فِيهِ الصَّغِيرُ،وَ يَسْكَرُ مِنْهُ [1] الْكَبِيرُ،وَ يَسْقُطُ فِيهِ الْجَنِينُ،وَ تَذْهَلُ كُلُّ مُرْضِعَةً عَمَّا أَرْضَعَتْ،يَوْمٌ عَبُوسٌ قَمْطَرِيرٌ،يَوْمٌ كَانَ شَرُّهُ مُسْتَطِيراً. إِنَّ فَزَعَ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ لَيُرْهِبُ الْمَلاَئِكَةَ الَّذِينَ لاَ ذَنْبَ لَهُمْ،وَ تَرْعُدُ [2] مِنْهُ السَّبْعُ الشِّدَادُ،وَ الْجِبَالُ الْأَوْتَادُ [3]، وَ الْأَرْضُ الْمِهَادُ،وَ تَنْشَقُّ السَّمَاءُ فَهِيَ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاهِيَةٌ،وَ تَتَغَيَّرُ فَكَأَنَّهَا وَرْدَةٌ كَالدِّهَانِ،وَ تَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَثِيباً [4] مَهِيلاً بَعْدَ مَا كَانَتْ صُمّاً صِلاَباً،وَ يُنْفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ،فَيَفْزَعُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ،وَ مَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ إِلاَّ مَنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ،فَكَيْفَ مَنْ

99-/7228 - Al-Shaykh in his (Amālī) said: Abu ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad b. al-Nuʿmān (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated to us, who said: Abū al-Ḥasan ʿAlī b. Muḥammad b. Ḥubaysh the scribe informed me, who said: al-Ḥasan b. ʿAlī al-Zaʿfarānī informed me, who said: Abū Isḥāq Ibrāhīm b. Muḥammad al-Thaqafī informed me, who said: ʿAbd Allāh b. Muḥammad b. ʿUthmān narrated to us, who said: ʿAlī b. Muḥammad b. Abī Saʿīd narrated to us, from Fuḍayl b. al-Jaʿd, from Abū Isḥāq al-Hamdānī, from the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), in what he wrote to Muḥammad b. Abī Bakr when he appointed him over Egypt, and ordered him to read it to its people. And in the report: “O servants of Allah! Indeed, after the Resurrection there is what is more severe than the grave: a Day on which the small child turns grey, and the elder is made to stagger [1], and the fetus falls, and every nursing mother will be distracted from what she was nursing—a day grim and frowning, a day whose evil is widespread. Surely the terror of that Day will frighten the angels who have no sin; from it the mighty heavens [2] will tremble, and the mountains that are pegs [3], and the earth that is a cradle. The sky will split apart, for on that day it will be frail; it will change so that it appears like a red rose, like oil; and the mountains will become a shifting dune [4] after they had been hard and solid. And the Trumpet will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is in the earth will be terrified, except whom Allah wills—so how [will it be for] one who…”
