Yunus Ayah 102

Translation:

Gabriel (peace be upon him) came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family) with the Buraq, so he mounted it and came to Bayt al-Maqdis. There he met whom he met of the prophets. Then he returned and, in the morning, he began telling his companions: I went to Bayt al-Maqdis last night and met my brothers among the prophets. They said: O Messenger of Allah, and how did you come to Bayt al-Maqdis last night? He said: Gabriel (peace be upon him) came to me with the Buraq, so I rode it; and as a sign of that, I passed by a caravan belonging to Abu Sufyan at the watering place of such-and-such a clan, and they had lost a camel of theirs and were searching for it. He said: So the people said to one another: He only came as a swift rider; but you have gone to al-Sham and know it—ask him about its markets, its gates, and its merchants. He said: They questioned him and said: O Messenger of Allah, what is al-Sham like, and what are its markets like? The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family), when asked about something he did not know, it weighed on him until that could be seen in his face—he said—while he was in that state, Gabriel (peace be upon him) came to him and said: O Messenger of Allah, here is al-Sham raised up for you. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family) turned, and there it was: al-Sham with its gates and its merchants. He said: Where is the one who asked about al-Sham? They said: Where is the house of so-and-so and the place of so-and-so? He answered them about everything they asked him. He said: But only a few of them believed; and that is the saying of Allah: And what will the communications and the warners avail a people who do not believe (Qur’an 10:101, M. H. Shakir). So we seek refuge in Allah lest we not believe in Allah and His Messenger. We have believed in Allah and His Messenger; we have believed in Allah and His Messenger.

Translation (Qur’an 10:102, M. H. Shakir):

Say: So wait; surely I too, with you, am of those who wait.

99-/4993 _1- al-‘Ayyāshī: from Muhammad b. al-Fudayl, from Abū al-Hasan al-Riḍā (peace be upon him). He said: I asked him about something regarding relief (al-faraj). He said: Do you not know that awaiting relief is itself part of relief? Surely Allah says: So wait; surely I too, with you, am of those who wait (Qur’an 10:102, M. H. Shakir).

Translation (Qur’an 10:103-109, M. H. Shakir):

10:103 Then We deliver Our messengers and those who believe—thus (it is) binding on Us that We deliver the believers.

10:104 Say: O people! if you are in doubt as to my religion, then (know that) I do not serve those whom you serve besides Allah, but I do serve Allah, Who will cause you to die, and I am commanded that I should be of the believers.

10:105 And that you should keep your course towards the religion uprightly; and you should not be of the polytheists.

10:106 And do not call besides Allah on that which can neither benefit you nor harm you, for if you do then surely you will in that case be of the unjust.

10:107 And if Allah should afflict you with harm, then there is none to remove it but He; and if He intends good to you there is none to repel His grace; He brings it to whom He pleases of His servants; and He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

10:108 Say: O people! the truth has indeed come to you from your Lord, therefore whoever goes aright, he goes aright only for the good of his own soul, and whoever goes astray, he goes astray only to its detriment; and I am not a custodian over you.

10:109 And follow what is revealed to you and be patient till Allah should give judgment, and He is the best of the judges.

99-/4994 _2- al-‘Ayyāshī: from Maṣqala al-Taḥḥān, from Abū ‘Abdillāh (peace be upon him). He said: What prevents you from bearing witness that whoever among you dies upon this Cause is indeed among the people of Paradise? Surely Allah says: Then We deliver Our messengers and those who believe—thus (it is) binding on Us that We deliver the believers (Qur’an 10:103, M. H. Shakir).
