S 30 Ayat 22 to 25
The Words of Allah, the Exalted:
"And one of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your tongues and colors; most surely there are signs in this for the learned. * And one of His signs is your sleep by night and your seeking of His grace by day; most surely there are signs in this for a people who would hear. * And one of His signs is that He shows you the lightning for fear and for hope, and He sends down water from the cloud, then gives life thereby to the earth after its death; most surely there are signs in this for a people who understand. * And His is whosoever is in the heavens and the earth; all are obedient to Him. * And He it is who originates the creation, then reproduces it, and it is easy for Him; and His is the loftiest similitude in the heavens and the earth; and He is the Mighty, the Wise." [Surat Ar-Rum 30:22-27, Translation: M. H. Shakir]

99-/8323 _1- Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub, from Ahmad ibn Idris and Muhammad ibn Yahya, from al-Hasan ibn ‘Ali al-Kufi, from ‘Ubayis ibn Hisham, from ‘Abdullah ibn Sulayman, from Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him), who said:
"I asked him about the Imam: Has Allah delegated to him as He delegated to Sulayman ibn Dawud (Solomon son of David)?"
He (peace be upon him) replied: "Yes. That is because a man asked him about an issue, and he answered it. Then another person asked him about the same issue, and he gave a different answer. Then a third person asked him, and he gave an answer different from the first two. Then he said: This is Our gift, therefore bestow or withhold without reckoning. [Surat Sad 38:39, M. H. Shakir] And it is recited in this way in the recitation of ‘Ali (peace be upon him)."
He said:
I asked: "May Allah rectify you, when the Imam answers them with such different answers, does he recognize them?"
He (peace be upon him) replied: "Glory be to Allah! Have you not heard Allah saying: Most surely there are signs in this for those who examine. [Surat Al-Hijr 15:75, M. H. Shakir] They are the Imams (peace be upon them). And He says: And surely it is on a sure way. [Surat Al-Hijr 15:76, M. H. Shakir] They will never deviate from it."
Then he said to me: "Yes, indeed, when the Imam looks at a man, he knows him, and knows his color. And if he hears his speech from behind a wall, he recognizes him and knows who he is. Surely Allah says: And one of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your tongues and colors; most surely there are signs in this for the learned. [Surat Ar-Rum 30:22, M. H. Shakir] They are the scholars. So there is nothing that speaks of a matter except that he knows whether it is of the saved or the doomed. Therefore, he answers each of them according to what is appropriate."
This narration is also reported by As-Saffar in Basā’ir ad-Darajāt. [4]
/8324 _2- ‘Ali ibn Ibrahim said regarding Allah’s saying: "And one of His signs is that the heaven and the earth stand firm by His command" — he said: It means the heaven and the earth here (in this world).
Then His saying: "Then when He calls you with a (single) call from the earth, lo! you come forth" — it is a refutation against the various types of heretics (zanadiqah). [Surat Ar-Rum 30:25, Translation: M. H. Shakir]
