Qur’an 4:47 (M. H. Shakir): O you who have been given the Book! believe that which We have revealed, verifying what you have, before We alter faces then turn them on their backs, or curse them as We cursed the violators of the Sabbath, and the command of Allah shall be executed.
99-/698 _14- Al-Tabrisi in al-Ihtijaj, from ‘Abd al-‘Azim al-Hasani (may Allah be pleased with him), said: I said to Muhammad b. ‘Ali b. Musa (peace be upon him): I hope that you are the Qa’im from the Household of Muhammad (blessings of Allah be upon him and his family), the one who will fill the earth with equity and justice just as it has been filled with oppression and tyranny? He (peace be upon him) said: “There is none among us but that he is an upholder of Allah’s command [and a guide to the religion of Allah]. But the Qa’im by whom Allah will purify the earth of disbelief and denial, and will fill it with equity and justice, is he whose birth will be concealed from people, whose person will be hidden from them, and whose name will be forbidden for them to mention. He has the same name and kunyah as the Messenger of Allah (blessings of Allah be upon him and his family). The earth will be folded up for him and every difficulty will be humbled before him. A number equal to the people of Badr—three hundred and thirteen men—from the farthest reaches of the earth will gather to him. And that is the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: ‘And from whatsoever place you come forth, Allah will bring you all together; surely Allah has power over all things’ (Qur’an 2:148, M. H. Shakir: And every one has a direction to which he should turn, therefore hasten to (do) good works; wherever you are, Allah will bring you all together; surely Allah has power over all things). When this number from among the people of the earth [2] has gathered for him, Allah will manifest his matter. When his complement reaches ten thousand men, he will go forth by Allah’s permission, and he will continue to kill the enemies of Allah until Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is pleased.” ‘Abd al-‘Azim said: [So I said to him:] My master, how will he know that Allah has become pleased? He said: “He will cast mercy into his heart. When he enters al-Madinah he will bring out al-Lat and al-‘Uzza and burn them.” And there will come—if Allah, Exalted be He, wills—a hadith that agrees with what is here concerning the meaning of the verse in His saying, Exalted is He: ‘And could you see when they shall become terrified, but there shall be no escape and they shall be seized from a near place’ (Qur’an 34:51, M. H. Shakir: And could you see when they shall become terrified, but (then) there shall be no escape and they shall be seized upon from a near place), a hadith from al-Baqir (peace be upon him) [3].
Qur’an 2:150 (M. H. Shakir): And from whatsoever place you come forth, turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque; and wherever you are, turn your faces towards it, so that people shall have no argument against you, excepting those of them that are unjust; so do not fear them, and fear Me, and so that I may complete My favor on you and so that you may be guided aright.
99-/699 _1- ‘Ali b. Ibrahim: It means: “and nor [do you fear] those among them who did wrong,” and (illa) here is in the position of (wa-la) [4] and is not an exception.
Qur’an 2:152 (M. H. Shakir): Therefore remember Me, I will remember you, and be thankful to Me, and do not be ungrateful to Me.
99-/700 _1- Ibn Babawayh said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan narrated to us, he said: Ahmad b. Idris narrated to us, from Muhammad b. Ahmad, he said: Abu Muhammad Ja‘far b. Ahmad b. Sa‘id al-Bajali, the nephew of Safwan b. Yahya, narrated to us, from ‘Ali b. Asbat, from Sayf b. ‘Umayrah, from Abu al-Sabbah b. Nu‘aym al-‘Abdi [1], from Muhammad b. Muslim, in a hadith in which he says at its end: “The Tasbih of Fatimah al-Zahra’ (peace be upon her) is the abundant remembrance of Allah, [of which] Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said: ‘Therefore remember Me, I will remember you’ (Qur’an 2:152, M. H. Shakir).”
99-/701 _2- Al-‘Ayyashi: From Jabir, from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him), who said: “The Prophet (blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) said: The angel brings down the register at the beginning of the day and the beginning of the night, in which he writes the deeds of the son of Adam. So do good [2] at its beginning [3] and do good at its end; what is between that will be forgiven for you—if Allah wills—for Allah has said: ‘Therefore remember Me, I will remember you’ (Qur’an 2:152, M. H. Shakir).”
99-/702 _3- From Sama‘ah b. Mihran, from Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him). He said: I asked him: Is there a defined limit of gratitude such that when a man performs it he is considered grateful? He said: “Yes.” I said: What is it? He said: “To say: ‘All praise is due to Allah for every blessing with which He has favored me’; and if there is a right for you in what He has favored [another] with, he fulfills it.” He said: “And among it is [His saying, Exalted is He]: ‘Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us’ (Qur’an 43:13, M. H. Shakir: Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it) [4],” until he enumerated verses.
99-/703 _4- From Abu ‘Amr al-Zubayri, from Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him), who said: “Kufr in the Book of Allah is of five kinds. Among them is the denial of blessings, and that is Allah’s saying, quoting the words of Sulayman (peace be upon him): ‘This is by the grace of my Lord that He may try me whether I am grateful or ungrateful’ (Qur’an 27:40, M. H. Shakir); and He said: ‘If you are grateful, I would certainly give you more’ (Qur’an 14:7, M. H. Shakir); and He said: ‘Therefore remember Me, I will remember you, and be thankful to Me, and do not be ungrateful to Me’ (Qur’an 2:152, M. H. Shakir).”
99-/704 _5- From Muhammad b. Muslim, from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him), who said: “The Tasbih of Fatimah al-Zahra’ (peace be upon her) is among the abundant remembrance of Allah of which He said: ‘Therefore remember Me, I will remember you’ (Qur’an 2:152, M. H. Shakir).”
