S 56 Ayat 22 to 23

قوله تعالى:

وَ حُورٌ عِينٌ* كَأَمْثٰالِ اللُّؤْلُؤِ الْمَكْنُونِ [22-23]

"And pure, beautiful ones, The like of the hidden pearls," [Surah Al-Wāqi‘ah 56:22–23, M. H. Shakir]

99-/10395 _3- كِتَابِ(صِفَةِ الْجَنَّةِ وَ النَّارِ):عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ جَنَاحٍ،عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَزْدِيِّ [1]،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)،قَالَ: «مَا مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ [2]يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ إِلاَّ كَانَ لَهُ مِنَ الْأَزْوَاجِ خَمْسُمِائَةِ حَوْرَاءَ،مَعَ كُلِّ حَوْرَاءَ سَبْعُونَ غُلاَماً وَ سَبْعُونَ جَارِيَةً،كَأَنَّهُنَّ اللُّؤْلُؤُ الْمَنْثُورُ،وَ كَأَنَّهُنَّ اللُّؤْلُؤُ الْمَكْنُونُ،وَ تَفْسِيرُ الْمَكْنُونِ بِمَنْزِلَةِ اللُّؤْلُؤِ فِي الصَّدَفِ،لَمْ تَمَسَّهُ الْأَيْدِي وَ لَمْ تَرَهُ الْأَعْيُنُ،وَ أَمَّا الْمَنْثُورُ فَيَعْنِي فِي الْكَثْرَةِ،وَ لَهُ سَبْعَةُ قُصُورٍ،فِي كُلِّ قَصْرٍ سَبْعُونَ بَيْتاً وَ فِي كُلِّ بَيْتٍ سَبْعُونَ سَرِيراً

99-/10395 In Kitāb Ṣifat al-Jannah wa al-Nār: From Abū Jaʿfar Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿĪsā, who said: Saʿīd ibn Janāḥ narrated to me, from ʿAwf ibn ʿAbdillāh al-Azdī, from Abū ʿAbdillāh (peace be upon him), who said:

"There is no believer who enters Paradise except that he will have five hundred houris as wives. With each houri are seventy male servants and seventy female servants— as if they were scattered pearls, and as if they were hidden pearls.

The explanation of 'hidden pearls' (maknūn) is like that of pearls in their shells, untouched by hands and unseen by eyes. As for 'scattered' (manthūr), it refers to their abundance.

And he will have seven palaces; in every palace there are seventy rooms, and in every room there are seventy beds."** [Surah Al-Wāqiʿah 56:22–23, M. H. Shakir — "And pure, beautiful ones, the like of the hidden pearls."]

،عَلَى كُلِّ سَرِيرٍ سَبْعُونَ فِرَاشاً،عَلَيْهَا زَوْجَةٌ مِنَ الْحُورِ الْعِينِ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهِمُ الْأَنْهٰارُ [3]أَنْهَارٌ مِنَ مَاءٍ غَيْرِ آسِنٍ صَافٍ لَيْسَ بِالْكَدِرِ

وَ أَنْهٰارٌ مِنْ لَبَنٍ لَمْ يَتَغَيَّرْ طَعْمُهُ [1] لَمْ يَخْرُجْ مِنْ ضُرُوعِ الْمَوَاشِي وَ أَنْهٰارٌ مِنْ عَسَلٍ مُصَفًّى [2]لَمْ يَخْرُجْ مِنَ بُطُونِ النَّحْلِ وَ أَنْهٰارٌ مِنْ خَمْرٍ لَذَّةٍ لِلشّٰارِبِينَ [3]لَمْ يَعْصِرْهُ الرِّجَالُ بِأَقْدَامِهِمْ،فَإِذَا اشْتَهَوْا الطَّعَامَ جَاءَتْهُمُ طُيُورٌ بِيضٌ يَرْفَعْنَ أَجْنِحَتَهُنَّ،فَيَأْكُلُونَ مِنْ أَيِّ الْأَلْوَانِ اشْتَهَوْا،جُلُوساً إِنْ شَاءُوا أَوْ مُتَّكِئِينَ،وَ إِنْ اشْتَهَوْا الْفَاكِهَةَ سَعَتْ [4]إِلَيْهِمْ الْأَغْصَانُ،فَأَكَلُوا مِنْ أَيِّهَا اشْتَهَوْا،قَالَ: وَ الْمَلاٰئِكَةُ يَدْخُلُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ كُلِّ بٰابٍ* سَلاٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ بِمٰا صَبَرْتُمْ فَنِعْمَ عُقْبَى الدّٰارِ [5]».

"Upon each bed are seventy mattresses, and upon them a wife from among the ḥūr al-‘īn. Beneath them flow rivers: —rivers of water that is pure, not stagnant nor turbid; —rivers of milk whose taste never changes, not drawn from the udders of cattle; —rivers of honey purified, not extracted from the bellies of bees; —rivers of wine delightful to the drinkers, not treaded out by men’s feet.

And when they desire food, white birds will come to them, raising their wings, and they will eat of whatever colors (types) they wish—sitting if they wish, or reclining. And if they desire fruit, the branches will reach toward them, and they will eat from whichever of them they desire."

He said: "And the angels shall enter upon them from every gate: Peace be upon you for that you endured patiently. Excellent, then, is the final abode." [Surah Ar-Ra‘d 13:23–24, M. H. Shakir]
