For Ibrahim at the time of his passing through Karbala

For Ibrahim at the time of his passing through Karbala

The eleventh gathering was the fourth gathering of Ibrāhīm (a.s.), during his journey through Karbalāʾ.

As he passed through that land, his horse stumbled and threw him to the ground. His head was injured and began to bleed.

He said:

“My Lord, what action has come from me that this has happened?”

Then his horse spoke and said:

“O Khalīl of Allah, my shame before you is great. Know that in this land the grandson of the Seal of the Prophets will be killed. For this reason your blood was made to flow here, so that it might correspond with his blood.” [614]

The author says:

Perhaps the place where Ibrāhīm (a.s.) fell was the very place where Imam Husain (a.s.) later fell. But look at the great difference between the two falls.

The translator says:

Ibrāhīm (a.s.) fell to the ground with a healthy and sound body. His head was wounded, but he rose again, mounted his horse, and continued toward his destination.

But Imām Imam Husain (a.s.), while thirsty, hungry, wounded, and with his body torn by injuries, fell to the ground surrounded by enemies. In that condition, the enemies gathered around him, and each one wounded him with spears, swords, and arrows.

In the end, they martyred him with great cruelty and hardship. His head was raised upon a spear and carried through the cities, while his body was left in the dust and blood without washing or shrouding.

“Alas for you, O son of the Messenger of Allah.”

End.
