An-Nahl Ayah 105

He had followed the Prophet of Allah and believed in him, and he was one of the People of the Book. Quraysh said: “By Allah, this man is teaching Muhammad; he has taught him with his tongue.” Allah says: “and this is a clear Arabic language” (16:103, M. H. Shakir).

Only they forge the lie who do not believe in Allah's communications, and these are the liars. (Qur’an 16:105, M. H. Shakir)

99-/6160 _1- Al-‘Ayyāshī: from al-‘Abbās b. Hilāl, from Abū al-Hasan al-Riḍā (peace be upon him): He mentioned a man who was a liar, then said: “Allah said: Only they forge the lie who do not believe.”

Whoever disbelieves in Allah after his belief, except him who is compelled while his heart is at rest on account of faith, but whoever opens his breast to disbelief—on them is the wrath of Allah, and they shall have a grievous chastisement. This is because they love this world's life more than the hereafter, and because Allah does not guide the unbelieving people. These are they whose hearts and their hearing and their eyes Allah has sealed and these are the heedless ones. No doubt that in the hereafter they will be the losers. Then surely your Lord, to those who flee after they are persecuted, then struggle hard and are patient, surely your Lord after that is Forgiving, Merciful. (Qur’an 16:106–110, M. H. Shakir)

99-/6161 _2- Muḥammad b. Ya‘qūb: from ‘Alī b. Ibrāhīm, from his father, from Bakr b. Ṣāliḥ, from al-Qāsim b. Burayd, who said: Abū ‘Amr al-Zubayrī narrated to us from Abū ‘Abdillāh (peace be upon him)—in a long tradition: “As for what has been made obligatory upon the heart of faith: it is affirmation, knowledge, binding resolve, contentment, and submission that there is no god but Allah, alone with no partner—one God, who has not taken a consort nor a son—and that Muḥammad is His servant and His messenger (may Allah’s blessings be upon him and his family), and the acknowledgment of whatever has come from Allah by way of a prophet or a book. That is what Allah has made obligatory upon the heart of acknowledgment and knowledge, and that is its act. And it is the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: ‘except him who is compelled while his heart is at rest on account of faith, but whoever opens his breast to disbelief’ (16:106).”

99-/6162 _3- And from him: from ‘Alī b. Ibrāhīm, from Hārūn b. Muslim, from Mas‘adah b. Ṣadaqah, who said: It was said to Abī—
