An-Nahl Ayah 26
Quran 16:26 — And Shakir: Those before them did indeed make plans, but Allāh demolished their building from the foundations, so the roof fell down upon them from above them, and the chastisement came to them from whence they did not perceive.

Ibn Bābawayh, through his chain, from al-Riḍā (peace be upon him) from his forefathers, from ʿAlī (peace be upon him), said: On Wednesday the roof fell down upon them from above them.

ʿAlī b. Ibrāhīm said: My father narrated to me, from Muḥammad b. Abī ʿUmayr, from Abū Ayyūb, from Muḥammad b. Muslim, from Abū Jaʿfar (peace be upon him), regarding His saying: Those before them did indeed make plans... He said: It is the house of their plotting, that is, they died and Allāh cast them [1] into the Fire. And it is a parable for the enemies of the family of Muḥammad (peace be upon him and upon them).

From Kulayb, from Abū ʿAbd Allāh (peace be upon him): I asked him about Allāh’s saying: But Allāh demolished their building from the foundations. He said: No — rather, “So Allāh came at their house from the foundations,” for it was a house.

Kulayb narrated from his father that he said: “It was only a house.” [2]

Quran 16:27 — And Shakir: Then on the resurrection day He will bring them to disgrace and will say: Where are the associates you gave Me in your affairs? Those who are given the knowledge will say: Surely the disgrace and the evil are this day upon the unbelievers.
Quran 16:28 — And Shakir: Those whom the angels cause to die while they are unjust to their souls. Then would they offer submission: We did not do any evil. Nay! Surely Allāh knows what you did.
Quran 16:29 — And Shakir: Therefore enter the gates of hell, to abide therein; so certainly evil is the dwelling place of the proud.

ʿAlī b. Ibrāhīm said regarding His saying: Then on the Day of Resurrection He will disgrace them and will say, Where are My partners for whose sake you used to oppose [the believers]? Those who were given knowledge will say, Surely the disgrace today and the evil are upon the unbelievers — he said: “Those who were given knowledge” are the Imāms (peace be upon them), and they will say to their enemies: Where are your partners, and whom did you obey in the world? Then He also said about them: Those whom the angels take in death while they are wronging themselves — so they submitted, submitting to what had afflicted them of tribulation — then they say: We did not do any evil; but Allāh replied to them: Yes indeed, Allāh is Knowing of what you used to do. Enter the gates of Hell, to abide therein; and evil is the abode of the arrogant.

Quran 16:30 — And Shakir: And it is said to those who guard (against evil): What is it that your Lord has revealed? They say: Good. For those who do good in this world is good; and certainly the abode of the hereafter is better, and certainly most excellent is the abode of those who guard (against evil).
Quran 16:31 — And Shakir: The gardens of perpetuity, which they will enter, the rivers flowing beneath them; they shall have therein what they please; thus does Allāh reward those who guard (against evil),
Quran 16:32 — And Shakir: Those whom the angels cause to die in a good state, saying: Peace be on you: enter the garden for what you did.
Quran 16:33 — And Shakir: They do not wait aught but that the angels should come to them or that your Lord should come; even thus did those before them; and Allāh did them no injustice, but they were unjust to themselves.
Quran 16:34 — And Shakir: So that what they did afflict them, and that which they mocked at encompassed them.
Quran 16:35 — And Shakir: And those who set up equals (with Allāh) say: If Allāh had pleased we would not have served aught but Him, (neither) we nor our fathers, nor would we have forbidden aught but by His command; even thus did those before them; is then aught (incumbent) on the messengers but a clear delivering (of the message)?
Quran 16:36 — And Shakir: And certainly We raised in every nation an apostle saying: Serve Allāh and shun the Shaitan; so there were some of them whom Allāh guided, and there were others against whom error was due; therefore travel in the land, then see what was the end of the rejecters.
Quran 16:37 — And Shakir: If you desire for their guidance, yet surely Allāh does not guide those whom He leads astray, and they shall have no helpers.
