92. Chronic Illness Cured through the Grace of Hazrat Abū al-Faḍl (a.s.)
The respected scholar and dear friend Āqā Hādī Dūst-Muḥammadī narrated the following on Thursday, 3rd Abān 1380 Shamsī (corresponding to 8th Shaʿbān 1422 Hijrī-Qamarī) during a visit to Qom, when we met at the office of Maktab-e-Islam. He visited our home at noon and shared this story about his healing during his early seminary days:
“During childhood, I used to frequently faint and turn pale. One night, I saw in a dream that I had gone with my mother to the holy shrines. We were passing by the ḥaram of Hazrat Abū al-Faḍl (a.s.) and my hand was in my mother’s hand.
Suddenly, I saw the flag atop the dome of Hazrat Abū al-Faḍl’s shrine begin to move, descend down, transform into a hand, and come directly in front of my face.
Then, like the hand of a human trying to comfort a child, it caressed me lovingly.”
In the morning, while I was recounting the dream at breakfast to my brother and sister, I noticed that my mother had seen the exact same dream and was telling it to my father.
My father said:
“Since we had already made the intention to send Hādī to the seminary and dedicate him to the service of Imām Husain (a.s.), God willing, our vow has been accepted.”
Āqā Dūst-Muḥammadī added:
“From that day onward, the chronic illness that had troubled me for years was completely healed, and it never returned again.”
