The Extraordinary Virtues of Visiting Him

در فضائل عجيبه‌ي زيارت آن حضرت

جهت يازدهم: در فضايل عجيبه آن است، از آن جمله اينكه زيارت آن حضرت الآن افضل است از زيارت ائمه‌ي در حياتشان، مثلا هرگاه حضرت صادق (عليه‌السلام) در حيات بود، و تو به زيارت او مي‌رفتي، و با او سخن مي‌گفتي، و او با تو سخن مي‌گفت به فضيلت زيارت حسين (عليه‌السلام) الان نمي‌رسيد چنانكه ابن ابي يعفور روايت نموده كه عرض كردم به حضرت صادق (عليه‌السلام)، چون به زيارتش رفتم كه شوق زيارت تو مرا به اين زحمت و مشقت انداخت، كه به خدمت آمدم، فرمود: شكايت از خدا نكن، چرا نرفتي به زيارت كسي كه حق او بر تو عظيم‌تر است از حق من؟ راوي مي‌گويد: اين كلام بر من سخت‌تر آمد از آنكه فرمود: شكايت خدا مكن، عرض كردم: كيست كه حق او عظيم‌تر است بر من از حق شما؟ فرمود: حسين (عليه‌السلام) بن علي (عليه‌السلام)، هر گاه به زيارت او رفته بودي، و دعا مي‌كردي و شكايت حال خود مي‌كردي بهتر بود. [823] .و از آن جمله: آنكه حضرت باقر (عليه‌السلام) به زيارت زوار آن حضرت مي‌رفتند، چنانكه حمران روايت كرده كه زيارت قبر حسين (عليه‌السلام) را، و چون برگشتم به منزل، حضرت باقر نزد من تشريف آوردند با عمر بن علي بن عبدالله بن علي، و فرمودند: اي حمران هر كس زيارت كند قبور شهيدان آل محمد (صلي الله عليه و آله) را به [ صفحه 284] جهت تقرب به خدا، بيرون رود از گناهان مثل روزي كه از مادر متولد شده. [824] .و از جمله‌ي: عجائب فضائلش آن است كه نظرهاي رحمت الهي نسبت به زوار خصوصيتي دارد، چنانكه در خبر مي‌فرمايد بعد از ذكر نظرهاي رحمت الهي در هر روز: و خداوند به آن نظر مي‌آمرزد زوار حسين (عليه‌السلام) را به خصوص با اهل بيتش، و هر كه را شفاعت كند هر چند مستحق جهنم باشد. [825] .و از لطايف آن فضايل: آن است كه زوار را در دخول بهشت خصوصيتي است، كه بايد پيش از ديگران به بهشت روند چهل سال [826] ، و هر چيزي تبرك مي‌جويد به زوار آن حضرت، و نظر به او مي‌كند، و اميد خير دارد در آن نظر به جهت بركت نظري كه به قبر آن سرور نموده است. [827] .و از غرائب فضايلش: آن است كه از اخبار بسيار ظاهر مي‌شود كه هنوز تمام فضائل زيارت بيان نشده است از براي مردم، چنانكه در خبر صحيح است كه اگر مردم بدانند فضل زيارت حسين (عليه‌السلام) را بالتمام، هر آينه خواهند مرد از شوق. [828] .و در خبر ديگر است، كه اگر بدانند فضل آنرا، هر آينه بيايند به نزدش از بلاد بعيده به چهار دست و پا، مانند راه رفتن اطفال. [829] .

The Extraordinary Virtues of Visiting Him

Eleventh Benefit: Among its extraordinary virtues is that visiting him now is superior to visiting the Imams during their lifetime.

For example, if Imam al-Ṣādiq (as) were alive and you visited him, spoke with him, and he spoke with you, it would still not equal the virtue of visiting Husain (a.s.) today.

As Ibn Abī Yaʿfūr narrated:

I said to Imam al-Ṣādiq (as), when I visited him:

“My longing to see you caused me to endure this hardship and difficulty in coming to your presence.”

The Imam replied:

“Do not complain against Allah. Why did you not go to visit the one whose right over you is greater than my right?”

The narrator says:

These words were harder for me than his saying, “Do not complain against Allah.”

I said:

“Who has a greater right over me than you?”

The Imam replied:

“Husain (a.s.) ibn ʿAlī (as). Had you gone to visit him, prayed there, and presented your needs and complaints, it would have been better.” [823]

Among its other remarkable virtues is that Imam al-Baqir (as) himself would visit those who had visited Husain (a.s.).

As Ḥumrān narrated:

I visited the grave of Husain (a.s.), and when I returned home, Imam al-Baqir (as) came to visit me along with ʿUmar ibn ʿAlī ibn ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAlī.

The Imam said:

“O Ḥumrān, whoever visits the graves of the martyrs of the family of Muhammad (sawa) seeking nearness to Allah, returns free from sins just as on the day his mother gave birth to him.” [824]

Among its wonders is that Allah's merciful glances toward the visitors possess a special distinction.

As mentioned in a narration, after describing Allah's merciful glances each day:

“Through that glance, Allah especially forgives the visitors of Husain (a.s.), along with their families and all those for whom they intercede, even if those people deserve Hell.” [825]

Among its subtle virtues is that the visitors possess a special distinction in entering Paradise.

They will enter Paradise forty years before others. [826]

Everything seeks blessings through the visitors of that Imam, looks toward them, and hopes for goodness from that glance because of the blessing gained from their having looked toward the grave of that noble Imam. [827]

Among its astonishing virtues is that many narrations indicate that the full virtues of this visitation have still not been disclosed to the people.

As stated in an authentic narration:

“If people were to know completely the virtue of visiting Husain (a.s.), they would die from longing for it.” [828]

Another narration states:

“If they knew its full virtue, they would come to him from distant lands crawling on their hands and knees, like small children.” [829]
