Yunus Ayah 27
Quran 10:27 — M. H. Shakir: And (as for) those who have earned evil, the punishment of an evil is the like of it, and disgrace shall cover them— they shall have none to protect them from Allah— as if their faces had been covered with slices of the dense darkness of night; these are the inmates of the fire; in it they shall abide.

99-/4877 - Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub, from ‘Ali ibn Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr, from Mansur ibn Yunus, from Muhammad ibn Marwan, from Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him) said: There is nothing but that it has a measure or a weight—except tears. For a single drop of them extinguishes seas of fire. When the eye brims with its water, no dust nor humiliation will overcast that face; and when it overflows, Allah makes him forbidden to the Fire. And if a weeper were to weep within a nation, Allah would have mercy upon that nation.

99-/4878 - And from him: from a number of our companions, from Sahl ibn Ziyad, from Ibn Faddal, from Abu Jamila and Mansur ibn Yunus, from Muhammad ibn Marwan, from Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him) who said: Every eye shall be tearful on the Day of Resurrection, except an eye that wept out of fear of Allah. No eye that brims with its water out of awe of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, but that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, makes the rest of its body forbidden to the Fire; and never do tears flow upon his cheek but that face will not be covered by dust nor humiliation. There is nothing but that it has a measure or weight—except the tear; for Allah, Mighty and Majestic, extinguishes with a small amount of it the seas of fire. If a servant were to weep within a nation, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, would show mercy to that nation because of that servant’s weeping.

99-/4879 - Al-‘Ayyashi: from al-Fudayl ibn Yasar, who said: I heard Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him) say: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his Household) said: No servant whose eyes brim with their water but that Allah makes that body forbidden to the Fire; and no eye that overflows out of fear of Allah but that face will not be covered by dust nor humiliation.

99-/4880 - From Muhammad ibn Marwan, from a man, from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him), who said: There is nothing but that it has a weight or a recompense—except tears. For a single drop extinguishes the seas of fire. When his eyes brim with their water, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, makes the rest of his body forbidden to the Fire; and if the tears flow upon his cheeks, his face will not be covered by dust nor humiliation. And if a servant were to weep within a nation, Allah would have mercy on it.

99-/4881 - ‘Ali ibn Ibrahim: In the narration of Abu al-Jarud, from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him), regarding His saying, “And those who have earned evil, the recompense of an evil is the like of it, and disgrace shall cover them; they shall have none to protect them from Allah,” he said: These are the people of innovations, ambiguities, and lusts. Allah will blacken their faces, then they will meet Him. Allah says: “As if their faces had been covered with slices of the night, dark,”—Allah will blacken their faces on the Day of Resurrection and clothe them in humiliation and abasement. Allah says: “Those are the inmates of the Fire; in it they shall abide.”

99-/4882 - Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub, with his chain, from Yahya al-Halabi, from al-Muthanna, from Abu Basir, from Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him), regarding Allah’s saying, “As if their faces had been covered with pieces of the night, dark,” said: Do you not see that when it is night, the inside of a house is darker than the outside? Thus they increase in blackness.
99-/4883
99-/4883 - Al-‘Ayyashi: from Abu Basir, from Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him), regarding Allah’s saying, “As if their faces had been covered with pieces of the night, dark,” said: Do you not see that when it is night, the inside of a house is darker than the outside?
Quran 10:28-31 — M. H. Shakir: And on the day when We will gather them all together, then We will say to those who associated others: Keep in your places, you and your associates; then We shall separate them, and their associates will say: It was not us that you served: Therefore Allah is sufficient as a witness between us and you that we were quite unaware of your serving (us). There shall every soul become acquainted with what it sent before, and they shall be brought back to Allah, their true Patron, and what they devised shall escape from them. Say: Who gives you sustenance from the heavens and the earth? Or who controls the hearing and the sight? And who brings forth the living from the dead and brings forth the dead from the living? And who regulates the affair? They will then say: Allah. Say: Will you not then guard (against evil)?

99-/4884 - ‘Ali ibn Ibrahim, regarding His saying, “And on the day when We will gather them all together, then We will say to those who associated others: Keep in your places, you and your associates; then We shall separate them,” said: Allah will send forth a fire that will separate the disbelievers and the believers. Regarding His saying, “There shall every soul become acquainted with what it sent before,” that is, it follows what it sent ahead. And “they shall be brought back to Allah, their true Patron, and what they devised shall escape from them,” meaning what they used to fabricate will be rendered null. And His saying, “Say: Who gives you sustenance from the heaven and the earth … and call upon whom you can besides Allah, if you are truthful,” is decisive (clear).
Quran 10:35 — M. H. Shakir: Say: Is there any of your associates who guides to the truth? Say: Allah guides to the truth; is He then Who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed, or he who himself does not go aright unless he is guided? What then is the matter with you; how do you judge?
