Al-Kahf Ayah 99
(Qur’an 18:99 — M. H. Shakir): And on that day We will let some of them surge against others, and the trumpet shall be blown, then We will gather them all together.
99-/6800 _1- ‘Ali ibn Ibrāhīm said: His saying, “And on that day We will let some of them surge against others,” means: they will intermingle; “and the trumpet shall be blown, then We will gather them all together.”
99-/6801 _2- Al-‘Ayyāshī: from al-Asbagh ibn Nubāta, from the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), who said regarding “And on that day We will let some of them surge against others”: “It means the Day of Resurrection.”
(Qur’an 18:101-102 — M. H. Shakir): Those whose eyes were under a covering from My reminder, and they could not bear to hear. Do those who disbelieve think that they can take My servants to be guardians besides Me? Surely We have prepared hell for the unbelievers for an entertainment.
99-/6802 _3- Ibn Bābawayh said: Tamīm ibn ‘Abd Allāh ibn Tamīm al-Qurashī narrated to us, in Farghāna [1], who said: My father narrated to us, from Aḥmad ibn ‘Alī al-Anṣārī, from Abū al-Ṣalt ‘Abd al-Salām ibn Ṣāliḥ al-Harawī, who said: Al-Ma’mūn asked al-Riḍā ‘Alī ibn Mūsā (peace be upon him) about the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: “Those whose eyes were under a covering from My reminder and they could not bear to hear.” He (peace be upon him) said: “A covering of the eye does not prevent remembrance, and remembrance is not something seen by the eyes; rather Allah, Mighty and Majestic, likened the disbelievers in the wilayah of ‘Alī ibn Abī Ṭālib (peace be upon him) to the blind, because they used to belittle what the Prophet (blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) said about him, so they could not bear to listen regarding him.” Al-Ma’mūn said: “You have relieved me; may Allah relieve you.”
99-/6803 _4- ‘Alī ibn Ibrāhīm said: Ja‘far ibn Aḥmad narrated to us, from ‘Abd Allāh ibn Mūsā, from al-Ḥusayn ibn ‘Alī ibn Abī Ḥamzah, from his father, and al-Ḥusayn ibn Abī al-‘Alā’, and ‘Abd Allāh ibn Waḍḍāḥ, and Shu‘ayb al-‘Aqarqūfī—all of them: from Abū Baṣīr, from Abū ‘Abd Allāh (peace be upon him). I said: His saying: “Those whose eyes were under a covering from My reminder”? He said: “By the ‘reminder’ it means the wilayah of ‘Alī.”
