Al-Hijr Ayah 78

الحجر آيه 78

الْأَرْوَاحَ فِي الْأَبْدَانِ،فَكَتَبَ بَيْنَ أَعْيُنِهَا:كَافِرٌ وَ مُؤْمِنٌ.وَ مَا هِيَ مُبْتَلاَةٌ بِهِ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ،ثُمَّ أَنْزَلَ بِذَلِكَ قُرْآناً عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)،فَقَالَ: إِنَّ فِي ذٰلِكَ لَآيٰاتٍ لِلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ وَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)الْمُتَوَسِّمَ،ثُمَّ أَنَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِ،ثُمَّ الْأَوْصِيَاءُ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي مِنْ بَعْدِي،إِنِّي لَمَّا رَأَيْتُهَا تَأَمَّلْتُهَا،فَأَخْبَرْتُهَا بِمَا هُوَ فِيهَا،وَ لَمْ أَكْذِبْ.

Translation: He placed the spirits into bodies, then He wrote between their eyes: “Disbeliever” and “Believer,” and what they will be tried with until the Day of Resurrection. Then He sent down that as Qur’an upon Muhammad (may Allah bless him and his family), and said: Surely in this are signs for those who examine. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family) was the one who examines (al-mutawassim), then I after him, then the legatees from my progeny after me. When I saw them, I contemplated them, and I informed them of what is in them, and I did not lie.

إِنَّ فِي ذٰلِكَ لَآيٰاتٍ لِلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ

Qur’an 15:75 — M. H. Shakir: Most surely in this are signs for those who examine.

99-/5923 _21-

شَرَفُ الدِّينِ النَّجَفِيُّ،قَالَ:رَوَى الْفَضْلُ بْنُ شَاذَانَ(رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ)بِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ رِجَالِهِ،عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي مَطْرُوفٍ،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ:سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: «مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلاَّ وَ مَكْتُوبٌ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ:مُؤْمِنٌ أَوْ كَافِرٌ. مَحْجُوبَةٌ [1] عَنِ الْخَلاَئِقِ إِلاَّ الْأَئِمَّةَ وَ الْأَوْصِيَاءَ،فَلَيْسَ بِمَحْجُوبٍ عَنْهُمْ»ثُمَّ تَلاَ إِنَّ فِي ذٰلِكَ لَآيٰاتٍ لِلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ ثُمَّ قَالَ:«نَحْنُ الْمُتَوَسِّمُونَ،وَ لَيْسَ-وَ اللَّهِ-أَحَدٌ يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْنَا إِلاَّ عَرَفْنَاهُ بِتِلْكَ السِّمَةِ».

Translation: 99-/5923 _21- Sharaf al-Din al-Najafī said: Al-Fadl ibn Shādhān (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated with his chain from his authorities, from ‘Ammār ibn Abī Maṭrūf, from Abū ‘Abd Allāh (peace be upon him), who said: I heard him say: “There is no one except that it is written between his eyes: ‘Believer’ or ‘Disbeliever.’ It is veiled [1] from the creatures except the Imams and the legatees; it is not veiled from them.” Then he recited: Surely in this are signs for those who examine. Then he said: “We are those who examine (al-mutawassimūn), and—by Allah—no one enters upon us except that we recognize him by that mark.”

علي بن إبراهيم،في معنى الآية قال:قال:«نحن المتوسمون،و السبيل فينا مقيم،و السبيل: طريق الجنة».

Translation: /5924 _22- ‘Alī ibn Ibrāhīm, regarding the meaning of the verse, said: “We are those who examine (al-mutawassimūn), and the path (al-sabīl) is established in us, and the path is: the way to Paradise.”

قوله تعالى:

وَ إِنْ كٰانَ أَصْحٰابُ الْأَيْكَةِ لَظٰالِمِينَ [78]

Qur’an 15:78 — M. H. Shakir: And most surely the dwellers of the thicket were most unjust.

علي بن إبراهيم:في قوله تعالى: وَ إِنْ كٰانَ أَصْحٰابُ الْأَيْكَةِ يعني:أصحاب الغيضة [2]،و هم قوم شعيب لَظٰالِمِينَ.

Translation: /5925 _1- ‘Alī ibn Ibrāhīm, on His saying, And most surely the dwellers of the thicket were most unjust, said: It means the people of the thicket (al-ghayḍa) [2], and they are the people of Shu‘ayb.

قوله تعالى:

وَ لَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحٰابُ الْحِجْرِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ [80]

Qur’an 15:80 — M. H. Shakir: And certainly the dwellers of the Rock rejected the messengers.

علي بن إبراهيم،قال:كان لقريتهم ماء،و هي الحجر التي ذكرها اللّه في كتابه في قوله تعالى: وَ لَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحٰابُ الْحِجْرِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ.

Translation: /5926 _2- ‘Alī ibn Ibrāhīm said: Their town had water, and it is al-Ḥijr which Allah mentioned in His Book in His saying: And certainly the dwellers of the Rock rejected the messengers.

Transliteration: al-ghayḍa: al-ujmah, wa hiya maghīḍu mā’in yajta‘imu fayanbutu fīhi al-shajar. “al-Ṣiḥāḥ – ghāḍa – 3:1097”.
