2. بابُ 52 رَحْمَةِ الصَّغِيرِ وَتَوْقِيرِ الْكَبِيرِ وَإِجْلَالِ ذِي الشَّيْبَةِ الْمُسْلِمِ
2. Showing mercy to the young, Honoring and respecting the elderly and showing reverence to a Muslim who has reached old age and has grey hair. (Chapter 52)

1- ما، الأمالي للشيخ الطوسي فِيمَا أَوْصَى بِهِ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عِنْدَ وَفَاتِهِ وَ ارْحَمْ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ الصَّغِيرَ وَ وَقِّرِ مِنْهُمُ الْكَبِيرَ[1].
2- ما، الأمالي للشيخ الطوسي ابْنُ حَشِيشٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ الْأَسْفَرَايِنِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَحْمُودٍ عَنْ صَخْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ اللَّيْثِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص بَجِّلُوا الْمَشَايِخَ فَإِنَّ مِنْ إِجْلَالِ اللَّهِ تَبْجِيلَ الْمَشَايِخِ[2].
3- ثو، ثواب الأعمال أَبِي عَنْ سَعْدٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَرْفَعُهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ عَرَفَ فَضْلَ شَيْخٍ كَبِيرٍ فَوَقَّرَهُ لِسِنِّهِ آمَنَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَزَعِ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَ قَالَ مِنْ تَعْظِيمِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ إِجْلَالُ ذِي الشَّيْبَةِ الْمُؤْمِنِ[3].
1- In the will of Ameerul Momineen (a.s.) at the time of his passing: “Show mercy to the young among your family, and honor the elderly among them.”
2- Anas said that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) said: “Honor the elderly, for honoring the elderly is among the ways of honoring Allah.”
3- The Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) said: “Whoever recognizes the virtue of an elderly person and honors him because of his old age, Allah will keep him safe from the terror of the Day of Resurrection.”
And he (s.a.w.a.) said: “Among the ways of honoring Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is to honor the believing person with gray hair.”
