Hud Ayah 111-112

They will say: O Allah, our Lord! You created us [1], and You caused us to die [2], and You did not make for us tongues with which we could speak, nor ears with which we could hear, nor a Book that we might read, nor a Messenger that we might follow, and we have no knowledge except what You taught us. He said: Then the Mighty and Majestic will say to them: My male and female servants, if I command you with a command, will you carry it out? They will say: Hearing and obedience are Yours, our Lord. So Allah, Mighty and Majestic, commands a Fire called al-Falaq, the most severe in punishment of anything in Hell. It will emerge from its place, black and dark, with chains and shackles. Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will command it to blow a single blast into the faces of the creatures, and it will blow. From the intensity of its blast the sky will be rent, the stars obliterated, the seas frozen, the mountains removed, the sights darkened, the pregnant will miscarry, and the children will turn gray from its terror on the Day of Resurrection. Then Allah, Blessed and Exalted, will command the children of the polytheists to cast themselves into that Fire. Whoever it has preceded in the knowledge of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, to be among the felicitous will cast himself into it, and the Fire will be coolness and peace for him, just as it was for Abraham (peace be upon him). And whoever it has preceded in the knowledge of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, to be among the wretched will hold back and will not cast himself into the Fire. Then Allah, Blessed and Exalted, will command the Fire, and it will snatch him up because he left the command of Allah and refused to enter it; thus he will follow his forefathers into Hell. And that is His saying, Mighty and Majestic: So some of them are wretched and [some] happy. As for those who are wretched, they shall be in the Fire; for them therein shall be sighing and groaning, abiding therein so long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord please; surely your Lord is the Doer of what He intends. And as for those who are made happy, they shall be in the garden, abiding therein so long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord please; a gift without break. (Qur’an 11:105-108; M. H. Shakir)

5186 _14- And ‘Alī ibn Ibrāhīm said, regarding His saying, The day it comes, no soul shall speak except by His permission; so some of them are wretched and [some] happy. As for those who are wretched, they shall be in the Fire; for them therein shall be sighing and groaning, abiding therein…: this is about the fire of this world before the Day of Resurrection. And His saying, And as for those who are made happy, they shall be in the Garden, abiding therein… means in the gardens of this world to which the spirits of the believers are transferred, so long as the heavens and the earth endure—except as your Lord please—a gift without break, meaning an uninterrupted bestowal connected to the bliss of the Hereafter in the Garden. And this is a refutation of those who deny the punishment of the grave and recompense—reward and punishment—in this world in the barzakh before the Day of Resurrection.

(Qur’an 11:105-108; M. H. Shakir)

The Most High’s saying:

And surely all—your Lord will most certainly pay back to them in full their deeds … so stand firm as you are commanded, and whoever turns (to Allah) with you, and do not transgress. (Qur’an 11:111-112; M. H. Shakir)

5187 _1- ‘Alī ibn Ibrāhīm said regarding His saying, And surely all—your Lord will most certainly pay back to them in full their deeds: [it is] on the Day of Resurrection.

Then He said to His Prophet (may Allah bless him and his family): So stand firm as you are commanded, and whoever turns (to Allah) with you; and do not transgress—that is, in this world, do not transgress.

The Most High’s saying:

And do not incline to those who are unjust, lest the Fire touch you. (Qur’an 11:113; M. H. Shakir)

99-/5188 _1- Muhammad ibn Ya‘qūb, from several of our companions, from Sahl ibn Ziyād, raised, from Abū ‘Abd Allāh (peace be upon him), regarding the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: And do not incline to those who are unjust, lest the Fire touch you. He said: It is a man who goes to the ruler and loves for him to remain [in power] until he puts his hand into his purse and gives him.

99-/5189 _2- ‘Alī ibn Ibrāhīm said: Inclining [rukūn] is affection, counsel, and obedience.

99-/5190 _3- Al-‘Ayyāshī, from some of our companions—one of them said: He was asked about the saying of Allah: And do not incline to those who are unjust, lest the Fire touch you. He said: It is a man from our Shī‘a who speaks with the speech of these oppressors.

99-/5191 _4- From ‘Uthmān ibn ‘Īsā, from a man, from Abū ‘Abd Allāh (peace be upon him), [regarding] And do not incline to those who are unjust, lest the Fire touch you. He said: Indeed, He did not make it [the touch] everlastingness, but [rather] that the Fire will touch you; so do not incline to them.

The Most High’s saying:

And keep up prayer in the two parts of the day and in the first hours of the night; surely the good deeds take away the evil deeds; this is a reminder to the mindful. (Qur’an 11:114; M. H. Shakir)

99-/5192 _5- The Shaykh, with his isnād to Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Īsā, from Ḥammād ibn ‘Īsā, from Ḥarīz, from Zurārah, from Abū Ja‘far (peace be upon him), said: I asked him about what Allah has made obligatory of the prayer. He said: Five prayers in the night and the day.
