S 10 A 25

لَنَا وَ لَكُمْ عَلَى تَزَوُّدِ التَّقْوَى وَ الزُّهْدِ فِيهَا،جَعَلَنَا اللَّهُ وَ إِيَّاكُمْ مِنَ الزَّاهِدِينَ فِي عَاجِلِ زَهْرَةِ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا،الرَّاغِبِينَ لِأَجْلِ ثَوَابِ الْآخِرَةِ،فَإِنَّمَا نَحْنُ لَهُ وَ بِهِ،وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ وَ آلِهِ وَ سَلَّمَ،وَ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ.

May Allah aid us and you in provision for piety and renunciation therein. May Allah make us and you among those who abstain from the fleeting bloom of the worldly life and who desire the reward of the Hereafter, for we belong to Him and are sustained by Him. May Allah bless Muhammad the Prophet and his family and grant them peace. And peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.

قوله تعالى:

وَ اللّٰهُ يَدْعُوا إِلىٰ دٰارِ السَّلاٰمِ وَ يَهْدِي مَنْ يَشٰاءُ إِلىٰ صِرٰاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ

[Yunus 10:25]

And Allah invites to the abode of peace and guides whom He pleases into the right path. (M. H. Shakir)

ابْنُ بَابَوَيْهِ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْوَرَّاقُ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْأَزْرَقُ-وَ كَانَ مِنَ الْعَامَّةِ-قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ،عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ،قَالَ:سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)يَقُولُ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ: وَ اللّٰهُ يَدْعُوا إِلىٰ دٰارِ السَّلاٰمِ ، فَقَالَ:«إِنَّ السَّلاَمَ،هُوَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ،وَ دَارَهُ الَّتِي خَلَقَهَا لِأَوْلِيَائِهِ الْجَنَّةُ».

99-/4869 - Ibn Babawayh narrated: ‘Ali b. ‘Abdullah al-Warraq, from Sa‘d b. ‘Abdullah, from al-‘Abbas b. Sa‘d al-Azraq—who was from the ‘amma—who said: ‘Abd al-Rahman b. Salih narrated to us, who said: Sharik b. ‘Abdullah, from al-‘Ala’ b. ‘Abd al-Karim, who said: I heard Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him) say regarding the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: “And Allah invites to the abode of peace”: “Indeed, al-Salam is Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and His abode which He created for His friends is the Garden.”

وَعَنْهُ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّقْرِ الصَّائِغُ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْقَاضِي،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ،عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ رُفَيْعٍ،عَنْ أَبِي ظُبْيَانَ،عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ،أَنَّهُ قَالَ:دَارُ السَّلَامِ الْجَنَّةُ،وَأَهْلُهَا لَهُمُ السَّلَامَةُ مِنْ جَمِيعِ الْآفَاتِ وَالْعَاهَاتِ وَالْأَمْرَاضِ وَالْأَسْقَامِ،وَلَهُمُ السَّلَامَةُ مِنَ الْهَرَمِ وَالْمَوْتِ وَتَغَيُّرِ الْأَحْوَالِ عَلَيْهِمْ،فَهُمُ الْمُكْرَمُونَ الَّذِينَ لَا يُهَانُونَ أَبَدًا،وَهُمُ الْأَعِزَّاءُ الَّذِينَ لَا يُذَلُّونَ أَبَدًا،وَهُمُ الْأَغْنِيَاءُ الَّذِينَ لَا يُفْتَقَرُونَ أَبَدًا،وَهُمُ السُّعَدَاءُ الَّذِينَ لَا يَشْقَوْنَ أَبَدًا،وَهُمُ الْفَرِحُونَ الْمَسْرُورُونَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَغْتَمُّونَ وَلَا يَهْتَمُّونَ أَبَدًا،وَهُمُ الْأَحْيَاءُ الَّذِينَ لَا يَمُوتُونَ أَبَدًا،فَهُمْ فِي قُصُورِ الدُّرِّ وَالْمَرْجَانِ،أَبْوَابُهَا مُشْرَعَةٌ إِلَى عَرْشِ الرَّحْمٰنِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ يَدْخُلُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ كُلِّ بَابٍ سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ بِمَا صَبَرْتُمْ فَنِعْمَ عُقْبَى الدَّارِ.

99-/4870 - And from him: Abu al-Hasan Ahmad b. Muhammad b. al-Saqar al-Sa’igh narrated to us, who said: Musa b. Ishaq the judge narrated to us, who said: Abu Bakr b. Abi Shaybah narrated to us, who said: Jarir b. ‘Abd al-Hamid, from ‘Abd al-‘Aziz b. Rafi‘, from Abu Zubyan, from Ibn ‘Abbas, that he said: The Abode of Peace is the Garden. Its people have safety from all afflictions, defects, ailments, and diseases; and they are safe from old age, death, and any change of state befalling them. They are the honored who are never humiliated, the mighty who are never abased, the wealthy who never become poor, the happy who never become wretched, the joyful and delighted who never grieve nor worry, the living who never die. They are in palaces of pearl and coral, whose doors open towards the Throne of the All-Merciful—“and the angels shall enter in upon them from every gate: Peace be on you because you were constant, how excellent, is then, the issue of the abode.” [al-Ra‘d 13:23–24; M. ابْنُ شَهْرِ آشُوبَ:عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ،عَنْ أَبِيهِ،وَ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ(عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلاَمُ)،فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى: وَ اللّٰهُ يَدْعُوا إِلىٰ دٰارِ السَّلاٰمِ: «يَعْنِي بِهِ الْجَنَّةَ يَهْدِي مَنْ يَشٰاءُ إِلىٰ صِرٰاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ يَعْنِي بِهِ وَلَايَةَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)».

99-/4871 - Ibn Shahr Ashub: from ‘Ali b. ‘Abdullah b. ‘Abbas, from his father, and from Zayd b. ‘Ali b. al-Husayn (peace be upon them), regarding His saying, “And Allah invites to the abode of peace”: “He means by it the Garden; ‘and He guides whom He wills to a straight path’—He means by it the wilayah of ‘Ali b. Abi Talib (peace be upon him).”

قوله تعالى:

لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا الْحُسْنىٰ وَ زِيٰادَةٌ وَ لاٰ يَرْهَقُ وُجُوهَهُمْ قَتَرٌ وَ لاٰ ذِلَّةٌ أُولٰئِكَ أَصْحٰابُ الْجَنَّةِ هُمْ فِيهٰا خٰالِدُونَ

[Yunus 10:26]

For those who do good is good (reward) and more; and blackness and abasement shall not cover their faces; these are the inmates of the garden: in it they shall abide. (M. H. Shakir)

الشَّيْخُ فِي أَمَالِيهِ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ(رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ)،قَالَ:أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ الْكَاتِبُ،قَالَ:أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ،قَالَ:أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَيْفٍ،عَنْ فُضَيْلِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ،عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ،عَنْ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)،فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ حِينَ وَلَّاهُ مِصْرَ،وَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَقْرَأَهُ عَلَى أَهْلِ مِصْرَ،وَفِيمَا كَتَبَ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ): «قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا الْحُسْنَى وَزِيَادَةٌ فَأَمَّا الْحُسْنَى فَهِيَ الْجَنَّةُ،وَالزِّيَادَةُ هِيَ الدُّنْيَا».

99-/4872 - Al-Shaykh in his Amali narrated: Abu ‘Abdillah Muhammad b. Muhammad b. al-Nu‘man (may Allah have mercy on him) informed us, who said: Abu al-Hasan ‘Ali b. Muhammad b. Hubaysh al-Katib informed us, who said: al-Hasan b. ‘Ali al-Za‘farani informed us, who said: Abu Ishaq Ibrahim b. Muhammad al-Thaqafi told us, who said: ‘Abdullah b. Muhammad b. ‘Uthman narrated to us, who said: ‘Ali b. Muhammad b. Abi Sayf, from Fudayl b. Khadij, from Abu Ishaq al-Hamdani, from the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), in what he wrote to Muhammad b. Abi Bakr when he appointed him over Egypt and ordered him to read it to the people of Egypt; among what he wrote (peace be upon him): “Allah, the Exalted, said: ‘For those who do good is good (reward) and more.’ As for the good, it is the Garden; and the ‘more’ is the world.”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ:فِي رِوَايَةِ أَبِي الْجَارُودِ،عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)،فِي قَوْلِهِ: لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا الْحُسْنَىٰ وَزِيَادَةٌ: «فَأَمَّا الْحُسْنَى فَهِيَ الْجَنَّةُ،وَأَمَّا الزِّيَادَةُ فَالدُّنْيَا،مَا أَعْطَاهُمُ اللَّهُ فِيهَا لَمْ يُحَاسِبْهُمْ بِهِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ،وَيَجْمَعُ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ ثَوَابَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ،وَيُثِيبُهُمْ بِأَحْسَنِ أَعْمَالِهِمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ،يَقُولُ اللَّهُ: وَلاَ يَرْهَقُ وُجُوهَهُمْ قَتَرٌ وَلاَ ذِلَّةٌ أُولَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ».

99-/4873 - ‘Ali b. Ibrahim: in the narration of Abu al-Jarud, from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him), regarding His saying, “For those who do good is good (reward) and more”: “As for the good, it is the Garden; and as for the ‘more,’ it is the world—what Allah gives them in it He will not call them to account for in the Hereafter. Allah will combine for them the reward of this world and the Hereafter and reward them for the best of their deeds in this world and the Hereafter. He says: ‘and blackness and abasement shall not cover their faces; these are the inmates of the garden: in it they shall abide.’” [Yunus 10:26; M. H. Shakir]

الطَّبْرِسِيُّ:عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ الْبَاقِرِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ): «الزِّيَادَةُ:هِيَ أَنَّ مَا أَعْطَاهُمُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى فِي الدُّنْيَا لَا يُحَاسِبُهُمْ بِهِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ».

99-/4874 - Al-Tabrisi: from Abu Ja‘far al-Baqir (peace be upon him): “The ‘more’ is that whatever Allah, Exalted is He, grants them in the world He will not call them to account for in the Hereafter.”

وَعَنْ عَلِيٍّ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ): «أَنَّ الزِّيَادَةَ غُرْفَةٌ مِنْ لُؤْلُؤَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ لَهَا أَرْبَعَةُ أَبْوَابٍ».

99-/4875 - And from ‘Ali (peace be upon him): “The ‘more’ is a chamber made from a single pearl, having four doors.”

وَرُوِيَ فِي نَهْجِ الْبَيَانِ:عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ،قَالَ:قَالَ: «الزِّيَادَةُ هِبَةُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: وَلاَ يَرْهَقُ وُجُوهَهُمْ قَتَرٌ وَلاَ ذِلَّةٌ، قَالَ: اَلْقَتَرُ: اَلْجُوعُ وَالْفَقْرُ،وَالذِّلَّةُ: اَلْخَوْفُ».

99-/4876 - And it is reported in Nahj al-Bayan from ‘Ali b. Ibrahim, who said: He said: “The ‘more’ is a gift from Allah, Mighty and Majestic. ‘And blackness and abasement shall not cover their faces’—He said: blackness (qatar) is hunger and poverty, and abasement is fear.” [Yunus 10:26; M.
