Al-Hajj Ayah 26
/7276 _8- Ali ibn Ibrāhīm: About the meaning of the verse, he said: It was revealed concerning those who deviate regarding the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) and wrong him.
(Qur’an 22:26, M. H. Shakir) And when We assigned to Ibrahim the place of the House, saying: Do not associate aught with Me and purify My House for those who make the circuit and stand to pray and bow and prostrate themselves.
99-/7277 _1- Muhammad ibn al-‘Abbās, said: Muhammad ibn Hammām narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ismā‘īl al-‘Alawī, from ‘Īsā ibn Dāwūd, who said: Imam Mūsā ibn Ja‘far (peace be upon them) said: “His saying, exalted is He, ‘And purify My House for those who make the circuit and stand to pray and bow and prostrate themselves’—by them He means the Family of Muhammad (blessings of God be upon them).”
And the narrations concerning this have already preceded under Sūrat al-Baqara [1].
(Qur’an 22:27, M. H. Shakir) And proclaim among men the pilgrimage: they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel, coming from every remote path.
/7278 _2- Ali ibn Ibrāhīm says: [“al-ḍāmir” means] the lean camels. And he read: “they come from every deep ravine.” He said: When Abraham (peace be upon him) finished building the House, God commanded him to proclaim to the people the Hajj. He said: “My Lord, how far will my voice reach?” God, exalted is He, said: “The proclamation is upon you, and conveying it [to the people] is upon Me.” He climbed upon the Station, which on that day was adjacent to the House, and the Station was raised with him until it seemed taller than the mountains. Then he called out, putting his two fingers into his ears, and turned his face to the east and to the west, saying: “O people, the Hajj to the Ancient House has been prescribed for you, so answer your Lord.” They answered him from beneath the seven seas, and from between the east and the west, to the end of the dust at all the edges of the earth, and from the loins of men and the wombs of women, with the talbiya: “Labbayk Allāhumma labbayk.” Do you not see them coming, answering with the talbiya? So whoever has performed Hajj from that day until the Day of Resurrection is among those who responded to God. And that is His saying:
