51. In Harmony with the Qur’an

Some pseudo-intellectuals have raised doubts about the text of Ziyarat Ashura, saying:

“In Ziyarat Ashura, certain individuals are explicitly cursed by name, and others described and cursed in general terms, whereas the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.) were not people of cursing!”

In response, it should be said: Did the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.) ever follow a path other than that of the Qur’an?! The Noble Qur’an itself has cursed certain individuals by name and others by their description.

In the Noble Qur’an, the word la‘n (curse) is attributed to God 37 times, and individuals such as Iblis (Satan), the disbelievers, liars, and oppressors have been cursed.
