At the Time When He Fell Upon the Ground

در وقتي كه بر خاك افتاد

استغاثه‌ي چهارم: در وقتي بود كه بر خاكش انداختند، و اين استغاثه اثر نمود در حضرت زين‌العابدين (عليه‌السلام) كه با اينكه مريض بود، و نمي‌توانست حركت كند، و بر او جهاد لازم نبود، مع ذلك از اين استغاثه به حركت آمد، و عصائي به دست گرفت، و شمشيرش بر زمين كشيده مي‌شد، و از خيمه‌ها بيرون آمد، ام‌كلثوم از عقبش بيرون آمد، و فرياد مي‌كرد: اي پسر برادر، برگرد، مي‌گفت: اي عمه بگذار در پيش روي پسر رسول (صلي الله عليه و آله) خدا جنگ كنم، پس حضرت فرمود: اي ام‌كلثوم نگاه دار او را در خيمه، تا اينكه زمين از نسل آل محمد خالي نشود، پس او را برگردانيد. [953] .پس شما نيز تلبيه بگوئيد اين استغاثه را، و تعجيل كنيد كه مصيبتهاي پي در پي وارد گرديد.

At the Time When He Fell Upon the Ground

The Fourth Appeal:

This occurred when they cast him down upon the earth.

This appeal had such an effect upon Imam Zayn al-ʿAbidin (a.s.) that, despite being ill, unable to move properly, and despite the fact that jihād was not obligatory upon him, he was nevertheless stirred into action by this appeal.

He took a staff in his hand, while his sword dragged upon the ground, and came out from the tents.

Umm Kulthum (a.s.) came out behind him, crying:

“O son of my brother! Return!”

But he replied:

“O aunt! Leave me, so that I may fight before the son of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.).”

Then the Imam (a.s.) said:

“O Umm Kulthum! Restrain him and keep him within the tent, lest the earth become empty of the progeny of Muhammad (s.a.w.a.).”

So she brought him back. [953]

Therefore, you too should answer this appeal with your talbiyah and hasten in responding, for successive calamities were about to descend one after another.

با بدن زخم دار بر روي خاك گرم

و صداي استغاثه‌ي پنجم بگوش رسيد، و آن: وقتي بود كه با بدن زخم‌دار بر روي خاك گرم افتاده بود، و اين صدا اثر نمود در اطفال حرم، پس دو طفل از خيمه‌ها بيرون آمدند.يكي: طفلي بود كه دو گوشواره در گوش داشت، بيرون آمد با ترس و بيم، و به راست و چپ نظر مي‌كرد، و چون قدري از خيام دور شد، ملعوني او را ضربتي زد، و شهيد نمود در حالتي كه مادرش به او نظر مي‌كرد، و هيچ نمي‌گفت كأنه مدهوش شده بود. [954] . [ صفحه 319] و ديگري عبدالله بن حسن (عليه‌السلام) بود كه يازده سال از عمرش گذشته بود چون عمويش را به آن حال ديد از خيمه بيرون دويد، پس حضرت فرياد كرد كه: اي خواهر او را نگاه دار، چون خواست او را بگيرد، گفت: و الله از عمويم جدا نمي‌شوم، و آمد به نزد حضرت، و مدافعه نمود از او، تا اينكه دستش را قطع كردند، و او را كشتند. [955] .

Upon the Hot Earth with a Wounded Body

Then the sound of the fifth appeal was heard.

This occurred when he was lying upon the burning earth with his wounded body.

This cry affected the children of the Haram (the family enclosure).

As a result, two children came out from the tents.

The first:

A young child who had two earrings in his ears.

He came out trembling with fear and anxiety, looking to the right and to the left.

When he had moved some distance away from the tents, an accursed man struck him with a blow and martyred him while his mother watched him.

Yet she said nothing, as though she had been overwhelmed and left speechless. [954]

The second:

Was Abdullah ibn al-Hasan (a.s.), who was eleven years old.

When he saw his uncle in that condition, he ran out from the tent.

The Imam (a.s.) cried out:

“O sister! Restrain him!”

When they attempted to hold him back, he said:

“By Allah! I shall never separate from my uncle.”

He came to the side of the Imam (a.s.) and sought to defend him.

Eventually they severed his hand and then martyred him. [955]
