94. Healing of a Paralyzed Child through the Intercession of Hazrat Qamar Banī Hāshim (a.s.)
Ḥujjat al-Islām Sayyid Husain Ashrafī, a scholar from Shāhrūd residing in ‘Alīābād Katūl, narrated the following on Thursday, 4 Mehr 1392 Shamsī at the home of Sayyid Kāẓim Shāhrūdī. He quoted a servant of the holy shrine of Hazrat Abū al-Faḍl (a.s.) as saying:
“We are twelve generations of shrine servants at the blessed tomb of Hazrat Abū al-Faḍl (a.s.), and we have witnessed countless miracles from this noble personality.”
One day, an Arab man came carrying his 8–9-year-old child in his arms, who was like a piece of lifeless flesh due to paralysis. The man threw the child toward the shrine’s zarih and shouted:
“Yā Abā Faḍl! What is this that You have given me?!”
The child’s head struck the shrine so hard that we thought his skull must have shattered. But then, the child fell to the ground, moved, stood up, and became a completely normal child.
This was during Ṣaddām’s regime, and we had been instructed to report any miracles immediately. That same night, we reported it, and government officials arrived, and a formal report was prepared.
When the father saw his child standing healthy and whole, he cried out in anguish to Hazrat:
“Why now?! Why didn’t You give him back to me healthy 8–9 years ago?!”
We asked the child what he saw. He replied:
“When my father threw me, two severed hands emerged from the shrine, caught me, and gently placed me on the ground.”
