33. Being Granted a Child by the Grace of Imam Husain (a.s.)
Mr. Sajjad Basiri, one of the devout young men of Isfahan, said over the phone on Thursday, 26 September 2013 (4 Mehr 1392 SH):
“After marriage, for three years we did not have a child. Following many examinations and tests, it was determined that the problem was on my side, and that I would never be able to have children.
We traveled to the holy shrines, and on a Friday night, I turned in supplication to Imam Husain (a.s.) in his shrine, and pleaded:
If you grant me a daughter, I will proudly dedicate her as a servant of Lady Ruqayya (peace be upon her), and if you grant me a son, I will proudly dedicate him as a servant of Ali Akbar and Ali Asghar.
In the middle of the crowd and bustle of the shrine, I felt something under my feet. With difficulty, I lifted it from beneath my feet and saw that it was an infant’s garment. Right then and there I understood that my plea had been accepted.
That very same year, God granted us a daughter, whom we named Ruqayya.”
