Special Qualities Granted to the Visitors
Chapter Three: Concerning the special qualities that are granted to the visitors, and they are many:
One of them is that Allah boasts of them before the Bearers of the Throne and before the angels brought near to Him, and says:
“Look at the visitors of the grave of Imam Husain (a.s.) who are proceeding towards him with longing.” [850]
Another is that Allah casts His merciful gaze upon them. [851]
Another is that visiting him is a sign of love for Imam Husain (a.s.). [852]
Another is that the visitor is counted among those who are spoken to by Allah in the presence of the Throne. [853]
Another is that his name is written in ʿIlliyyīn. [854]
Another is that he will be in Paradise in the neighborhood of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.) and the Imams of Guidance (a.s.), and will eat from the same table as them. [855]
Another is that if he is wretched (shaqī), he is transformed into one who is blessed and fortunate (saʿīd). [856]
Another is that he is counted among the Karūbiyyīn (the angels brought very near to Allah). [857]
Another is that he is among the helpers of Fatimah (a.s.), for she visits Imam Husain (a.s.) every day. [858]
[ صفحه 291]
Another is that his limbs—his face, his eyes, and his heart—become the subject of the supplication of Imam al-Sadiq (a.s.), for that Imam (a.s.) would supplicate in prostration:
“اللهم ارحم تلك الوجوه التي تلطخت على قبر الحسين، وارحم تلك الأعين التي جرت دموعها، وارحم تلك القلوب التي جزعت لنا، وارحم تلك الصرخة التي كانت لأجلنا.”
“O Allah, have mercy upon those faces that have been rubbed upon the grave of Imam Husain (a.s.); have mercy upon those eyes from which tears flow; have mercy upon those hearts that grieve for us; and have mercy upon those cries that are raised for our sake.” [859]
Another is that the visitor is a trust of Imam al-Sadiq (a.s.), for he used to say:
“اللهم إني استودعتك تلك الأبدان حتى تردها علي عند الحوض.”
“O Allah, I entrust those bodies to You until You return them to me at the Pond (al-Hawd).” [860]
Another is that the visitor of that noble one is a visitor of Allah and His Messenger (s.a.w.a.). [861]
Another is that every person in Paradise, regardless of his rank, will wish:
“If only I had been among the visitors of Imam Husain (a.s.),”
because of the special honors and distinctions that he sees being bestowed upon the visitors. [862]
